A practical alternative for bulky purchases
Large boxed goods are difficult to carry out of a store. Retailers often reach for an oversized carrier bag that the box barely fits, adds cost and is used once. Box carrying handles put the grip on the packaging itself, so the customer carries the pack rather than a bag around the pack.
Where the carton is suitable, packaging carry handles can reduce the need for secondary packaging at the till. They will not suit every package — unboxed, damp, very heavy or unusually shaped items still need their own solution — so the right approach is to test handles on your own cartons and loads.

Adhesive carry handles are strips of tape with a flexible grip in the middle and adhesive at both ends. The ends stick to the top of a box and the raised centre forms a handle, so a large or bulky box can be carried by hand.
Can they replace retail carrier bags?
In some situations they can reduce reliance on oversized retail carrier bags, where the purchase is already boxed and the carton is suitable. They are not a replacement for bags in every case, and unboxed or very small items still need conventional packaging.
How do adhesive carry handles attach to a box?

Which box surfaces are suitable?
Clean, dry, smooth corrugated or carton board generally gives the best adhesion. Dusty, waxed, laminated, heavily printed, damp or recycled surfaces with loose fibres can reduce bond strength, so always test your own carton and load first.
